I have personally explored various therapies throughout my own healing and integrative journey and have found Internal Family Systems (IFS),Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR),Somatic Experiencing (SE), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and Hypnosis to be powerfully compassionate and effective therapeutic processing modalitites.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Self Understanding and Compassion Building I will guide you through a non-pathological approach to understanding your system, We will look to collaboratively identify positive roles and intentoions of your protective parts, in order to cultivate compassion and invite space for curiousity and wholeness.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Trauma Reprocessing Together we will identify the maladaptive beliefs that you have been conditioned to hold, and reprocess them to cultivate a resilient and positive core understanding of your capacities. EMDR is a powerful neurological modality that goes beyond other thought-based approaches where we will build a safe container around your processing experience.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) Healing through Body Awareness Pulling from the work of Bessel van der Kolk (The Body Keeps the Score), Gabor Maté (When the Body Says No) and Peter Levine (founder of Somatic Experiencing), I believe the body is the unconscious holder of our experiences. Everyone is at different places of comfort and awareness for this exploration. While body awareness is not necessary to deep therapeutic work (both IFS and EMDR can still be very effective without it), it is a facet of awareness I will encourage for clients who feel ready.
